Abstract: Design of High Pressure Measuring Regulating Stations has been written about many times over the last 30 to 40 years. This paper presents a procedure to follow in designing a station using many of the developments which have evolved over these years. This procedure will be useful to first time designers as well as experienced designers. First, the functions of a Measuring Regulating Station should be reviewed. The primary function, as suggested by the title, is accurate measurement of flow. This is particularly true where the measurement is used as the basis of sales (custody transfer) of gas from one party to another. A second function is dependable regulation of high pressure gas from gathering systems or transmissions systems to lower pressure receiving systems.
