Abstract: A pipeline break control system is by definition a system that detects the fact that a product pipeline has had an abnormal loss of product and takes the action necessary to prevent further loss of product. Ultimately, a break control system would be a system that would instantaneously react to a break and take immediate action that would prevent funher loss of product. Ultimately, the system would not require pipeline operating personnel to become involved in controlling the break. Ultimately, Ihe system would not require maintenance, and ultimately, the system could be purchased at a price that is economically justified by the prevention of product loss alone.
