Abstract: This paper presents a multiphase metering system that utilizes a pipe separator technique to completely separate the multiphase flow into a liquid stream and a gas stream. The gas and liquid streams are then measured with conventional measurement instruments. Over one hundred commercial metering systems are currently in operation worldwide. Operating principles, significant features, sizing criteria, design configurations, and operating experience of some of these commercial installations are described in this paper.
