Abstract: An orifice meter is undoubtedly the most versatile of all measuring devices. It is used for the measurement of hydrogen, our lightest gas, and for tar, one of our heaviest liquids. It is used for measuring at temperatures of -300 F., and is also used for measurement at +800 F. It is used for measuring gas under a vacuum. It is used for measuring gas at 3,000 pounds pressure. I am sure that I am safe in stating that it can be used for a greater variety of conditions than any other type of measuring device.
