Title: A Look At Shallow Gas Development In Southeastern Alberta

Abstract: The development of shallow, low pressure gas reserves in Western Canada has received considerable interest in the last decade. The focal point of this activity lies in Southeastern Alberta, as outlined in Figure 1, and encompasses an area of some 7,000 square miles. Although the large scale development of these reserves is relatively new compared to other areas of activity within the petroleum industry, their presence has been known and acknowledged since the beginning of this century. The somewhat famous Medicine Hat field was discovered in 1904 and remains to this day an area of high activity.
