Abstract: The behavior of dense gas volumes emitted suddenly into a simulated atmospheric boundary layer is used to calibrate a numerical volume-integrated box model. The box model which includes relations to account for surface heat transfer and atmospheric humidity is compared to field releases of Freon and Liquid Natural Gas.
