Abstract: Density is a physical property of matter defined as mass per unit volume. Density is a vital indicator of properties used in measurement of gases, liquids, or solids. The m easurement of density is required in many applications in the hydrocarbon industry for mass and volume flow me asurement, interface detection, quality control, and concentration measur ement. This paper will address liquid dens ity measurement, sensor accuracy and performance, as well as its relationship to flow and totals.
