Abstract: This paper details the incorporation of covered tasks for control room operators into qualification sessions on a trainer / simulator. The paper will emphasize gaining confidence that operators will be able to recognize abnormal operating conditions and react appropriately. A number of possible abnormal conditions on the pipeline will be presented in the context of a simulated exercise.
