Abstract: I have been asked to discuss several aspects of Gas Contracts from the perspective of a typical gas producer - not my company, nor any other company nor individual in particular, but what Ive really been asked to explain to you is: Why does a producer wish to force the buyer into taking gas when the producer wants to deliver it, as opposed to when the buyer wants to take it? That is a very good question which I will try to answer - but I think the answer will make more sense if I first go into some history and some other aspects of gas contracts.
