Abstract: In 1989 there was a need requested by Industry to have a National Electronic Flow Measurement Standard. This was to establish some basic guide lines for the use, installation, calibration, verification, and the logging of data and events. A committee, under the direction of the American Petroleum Institute in Washington, D.C., was formed. After many years and even more committee meetings there is now a National Standard.
