Abstract: Analog gas flow computing has been available to the industry for a number of years. With the gas distribution companies, for example, the continuous up-to-the-minute flow information, provided by a gas flow computer system, enables them to stay within demand contract. Transmission companies have found the computer offers a way to keep their pipelines operating at maximum efficiency, thus assuring their customers of an adequate gas supply. The operations group within gas companies term the gas flow computer ideal for providing more and faster information on which to base decisions concerning load dispatching, peak shaving and storage
