Abstract: Electronic transducer, electronic transmitter, as far as we are concerned here, they are one and the same, i A definition from Websters Dictionary states a transducer is a device that is actuated by power from one system and supplies power, usually in another form, to a second system. Electronic is relating to, or utilizing devices constructed, or working by the methods, or principles of electronics. The Instrument Engineers Handbook says that a transmitter is a device that senses a process variable through the medium of a primary element and that has an output whose steady state value varies only as a predetermined function of the process variable. The primary element may or may not be integral with the transmitter. This definition states that a primary element is required and that the transmitter interprets the physical changes caused by the process variable and primary element to an output signal that is proportional to predetermined values of the process variable.
