Abstract: The turbine meter has been used for gas measurement for close to one hundred years. In the last thirty to thirty five years the turbine meter has made a significant contribution to improved gas measurement. High pressure performance of the turbine meter has improved and efforts are being made to make it better. The meter has been misused in the past and it is hoped that the standards for Gas Turbine Meters will eliminate future misuse. Increased knowledge about the meters performance over a wide range of conditions and improvements in overall performance are the objectives of many programs going on today and into the future.
