Abstract: The Gas Research Institute (GRI) has worked with the gas industry for fifteen years to develop new information on plastic pipe operations, software, and hardware products. In this paper, four new technologies which are now available to the gas industry will be reviewed. GRIs overall distribution R&D program includes elements of basic research and development as well as a number of improved technologies for aiding the industry in maintaining an excellent safety record and containing the costs for new installations and repair/maintenance tasks.
