Title: The Development Of A Pocket Digital Thermometer
Author: Kenneth Junkert

Year Published: 1974
Abstract: The age of pocket calculators and advanced C-MOS circuits makes possible a reliable and accurate pocket thermometer with four digit LED display. This paper discusses the design of a small lightweight, battery powered, portable instrument for use with either platinum or thermis tor probes, and the ability to operate continuously from a battery charger. The final design features a C/MOS/LSI circuit, continuous linearization for platinum probes, a measurement range of -40 to 500 C, . 1C resolution, five hour continuous operation on full charge, low battery indication, and -20 to 120F operating ambient.
