Abstract: Electronic flow meters (EFMs) are widely used for metering of hydrocarbon fluids. A basic understanding of electricity is essential to reliable, accurate and safe operation of these EFMs. While it is not necessary for the field technician to understand circuit board level operations of microprocessors and integrated circuits, it is important to understand the electrical power and electronic signals going in and out of the EFM in order to maintain a healthy EFM system.
