Abstract: Most of us will agree that great strides have been made in the upgrading of mechanic training during the last ten years. However, there is one set of important ingredients which is missing from the overall training scope, and that is the upgrading of the mechanics attitude, enthusiasm and pride in workmanship - all of which are necessary to assure maximum productivity. A close working relationship between the school, or training organization, and company management is absolutely necessary to develop these traits in the mechanic. If proper attitude, enthusiasm and pride in workmanship are stressed in the course of training and if the company management offers sufficient encouragement and acknowledgement of accomplishments, results can be assured.
