Abstract: When the term natural gas is mentioned, there comes to mind an image of sweet, dry combustible gas that is sixty percent as heavy as air and which has a gross heating value of 1000 Btu per standard cubic foot. While this defines merchantable gas according to most pipeline purchase contracts, unfortunately much of the gas that must be measured and transported is not yet of that quality. It may be mixed with water, crude oils, condensate, inhibitors, brines, gas treating solutions, pipeline dirt, dispersed corrosion products,
