Abstract: Measurement of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a complex subject, ranging from the measurement of propane into a 20 pound cylinder for your barbeque grill, where the product changing hands is worth less than five dollars, to the measurement of a 100 MBPD mixed LPG stream feeding a large fractionator, where the product changing hands is worth in excess of 1 million dollars per day. LPG is used In this paper to refer to any one or a mixture of light liquid hydrocarbons including ethane, propane, butane, or natural gasoline. This paper deals with some of the fundamentals of LPG measurement.
