Abstract: Transfer proving is becoming a nationwide practice for several very obvious reasons. The reasons are as follows: 1. Elimination of the necessity of meter removal for testing. This allows a longer field life. 2. Field proving allows more consistent meter proving through greater repeatability. a. Errors can be eliminated because the time required to make a proof is minimized. b. The timing is automatic, which eliminates stop watch errors. c. Pressure reading is automatically corrected.
