Abstract: This paper describes the automated measurement techniques used to define precise alternating voltages (AVs) in the frequency range of 10 Hz to 1 MHz. Automated techniques that free the operator from the tedious chore of performing the transfer to direct voltage (DV) are described. Overcoming obstacles that interfere with the accuracy of measurements are discussed based on the authors experience during development of the automated system. A plan for maintaining AVs at particular frequencies as artifacts is also detailed.
