Abstract: Automatic tank gauging encompasses a variety of measurements. In an attempt to determine either the volume or mass of the product in a storage tank, attention needs to be directed not only to the actual measurements, but also to the tank installation and data handling between the tank and the operations office. All these influence the final results and the validity of the data.
