Abstract: The ability to perform accurate and reliable measurement and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) was a daunting task for anyone prior to the invention of microprocessors in the early 1970s. Most natural gas measurement, control and communication prior to this were done pneumatically. Differential measurement in combination with mechanical driven chart recorder were one of the first devices used in the field and is still used today to measure and record natural gas through pipelines and at well heads
