Abstract: Piping systems for reciprocating compressors are presently being designed using electro acoustical and digital acoustic models. The well designed system is not as dependent on the model as it is on the design engineers ability to create cost-effective and efficient piping systems. Engineering is a mixture of science, art, and economics. A proven design tool or model in the hands of an experienced successful designer will yield a good design.
