Abstract: The permittivity of oil is an important input parameter for multiphase flow meters, and it should therefore be known with high accuracy in order to ensure accurate flow rate measurements. This is especially important at low water fractions. This paper presents a method for calculating the permittivity of crude oils and condensates directly from the petroleum composition (PVT-data).
