Abstract: The phase mass flow meters suggests something in the future, advanced, space-age technology! This much is true. But the space age is with us today and so are mass flowmeters. Mass sensitive flowmeters and mass flow measurement practices are accomplished facts. A few facts will illustrate why mass flow measurement is attractive. Standardization has been an important part of industry since the early 19th century. Progress has been slow in many isolated areas, but the effect has helped to place our nation in an economic position enjoyed by no other.
