Abstract: By odorizing natural gas, the industry is using equipment and chemicals that inherently pose a certain risk of causing vapor or liquid releases in the atmosphere. Equipment failure, human error or natural disasters may cause natural gas odorant to be released into the environment causing business disruption, potential negative effects on the environment, putting the public at risk and ultimately placing the reliability of natural gas delivery in question
