Abstract: It is believed that the word gas was derived from the Greek word chaos. This is probably a true statement since gas molecules exists in a permanent state of chaotic motion. A gas, unlike solids and liquids, is matter that has no internal boundaries. As a result, gas molecules are in continuous motion and expanding to completely fill any confining space. To truly understand gas measurement, a person must understand the fundamentals of natural gas chemistry.
