Abstract: The purpose of this paper today is to summarize the impact of the revision to Part 192, Code of Federal Regulations - Minimum Federal Safety Standards for Gas Lines regarding the use of plastic pipe in gas distribution systems, which became effective May 18, 1978. Since almost 100 percent of the plastic pipe installed today is thermoplastic pipe. I will limit my remarks to this material. Al this point I would like to explain some of Ehe terms used in the presentation: ASTM D 2513 refers to the American Society for Testing and Materials Standard Specification for Thermoplastic Gas Pressure Pipe, Tubing and Fittings - Number D 2513.
