Abstract: The Natural Gas Industry is going through a period of rapid change which among other things, affects the way odorant delivery is controlled and monitored. The need for exact and well documented odorant delivery is resulting in the integration of new odorization systems and the subsequent retiring of old systems. The challenge that gas companies face in removing and disposing of the abandoned equipment is the focus of this presentation. We will discuss the experience and knowledge that we have acquired over the last four years working on the decommissioning and removal of odorant contaminated equipment. Without the close, friendly and professional cooperation of Natural Gas Companies, we would not have the expertise and knowledge that we have today.
