Abstract: This paper describes a new, extremely versatile and accurate system for automatic test, calibration, certification and data acquisition. The special instrumentation, interfacing, programming and computer equipment developed for this system, and applications to a wide range of component, sub-assembly and instrument testing are discussed. The new equipment and techniques make it possible to carry out virtually all of the present day classes of test--from production levels of accuracy to the highest standards laboratory level of accuracy-- with one universal system. Applications of the technology to meter, power supply, component, oscilloscope, and printed circuit board testing will be described as well as its applicability to general purpose automated data acquisition.
