Abstract: This paper gives an introduction on the practical application of ultrasonic gasflowmeters. A general outline of the theory is given regarding e.g. the main parameters for determining the accuracy and the sensitivity of the meter, the generation of ultrasonic sound pulses and the possible path configurations. The practical applications are illustrated using the Servex 5-path Q.sonic custody transfer flowmeter.
