Abstract: The practice of lifting fluid from oil wells by utilizing gas pressure is not new. It has been recognized for many years as a major method of artificial lift. This paper concerns itself with Measurement For Gas Lift Operations and the problems encountered therein. However, in order to better understand the measurement problems, it is necessary to briefly discuss the principle of gas lift. When utilizing gas lift, well conditions coupled with operational requirements will dictate the type of equipment and also the type of lift that will be used. There are two primary classifications of artifically lifting fluid by gas lift - continuous flow and intermittent flow.
