Abstract: The objective of this presentation is to educate and inform excavators and their employees in Utility damage prevention to achieve: 1. Protection of the lives and property of both the public and the contractor. 2. Continuance of service to customers, 3. Reduced costs and loss of productive time to both the excavators and UtiUties due to underground facility damage. 4. Reduced need for litigation and the costs involved. A positive step can be taken toward achieving these objectives through this presentation. While there are many underground Utilities, the emphasis for this presentation is on gas mains and services.
