Abstract: Since the implementation in the last ten years of improved measurement equipment such as C9+ chromatographs and electronic chilled mirror devices, the hydrocarbon measurement industry has been debating the procedures for hydrocarbon dew point measurement. Which type of measurement is most accurate? What measurement most accurately predicts liquid dropout? What should be used as the standard? The debate is complicated by the needs of different types of companies within the industry. Which measurement technique is most relevant for a specific companys needs? Can there be an industry-wide standard for measurement of hydrocarbon dew point? These are questions that can not be answered in one paper and may not be answered without several years of additional research and debate.
