Abstract: High Pressure Farm Tap Regulators and the low pressiire Fervce regulator are the most hasic and numerically the most common, regulrtors utilized in tho gas industry. They are simple, reliable, low in cost, easy to install and requirepractically ro naintenancc. Both the Iigh pressure farm tap and the low pressure service regulators share many similar construction features spring and diaphragm, boost effect, single soft seat, mechanical advantage (lever arm) between valve and diaphragm. Despite the relative simplicity of this class of regulator, countless engineering hours have bpcn spent on its develcpnent and refine irrnt, Host of this work has been spent in the low pressure version-the service regulator,
