Abstract: The primary purpose of MIL-STD-45662, Calibration Systems Requirements, is to ensure that calibrations and measurements are performed with uncertainties which are not very much different from expected uncertainties, given the means utilized by the prescribed program. The standard does not address itself to controlling uncertainties, except in a proximate way, because it does not provide for any means to analyze, quantify, and, therefore, to know measurement uncertainties. However, the intent is clear.
