Abstract: The meter prover is the standard apparatus by which the proof of accuracy of our gas meter is determined. So the first thing to consider is to obtain the best possible location for it. Of course the ideal place would be an air conditioned room of constant temperature and free from drafts, But as most shops do not have this equipment the prover should be located in a well lighted place, preferably an inside room, away from the direct rays of the sun. The heating equipment used should maintain a constant and uniform temperature in all parts of the proving room.
