Abstract: The process of Custody Transfer of quantities of oil through storage tanks, whether they are as small as 50 barrel or as large as 750,000 barrel, is still an integral part of todays oil industry. Static measurement remains an important part of all pipeline, refinery, and terminal operations. The accurate measurement of the transfer of oil depends on several factors, two of which are of most importance the calibration of the tank, and the measurement of the oil in the tank, commonly known as gauging the tank.
