Abstract: Flexible Element Regulators, also referred to as Unloading Design Regulators, utilize a rubber element that functions as both the actuator and valve of a self contained pressure regulator. This is in contrast to the more traditional style of regulators where a separate actuator , throttlin g valve and seat are used to regulate the pressure and provide shutoff .
