Abstract: Spring operated gas regulators are force balanced mechanical devices that operate everything from your gas grill at home to large transmission systems. Regulators are often referred to as a control valve, governor, or pressure reducers. The system designer uses regulators for several reasons, first comes safety, economics, and to improve the efficiency of utilizing the gas. With gas fired equipment becoming more sophisticated due to efficiency and emissions, proper selection, application and understanding of spring operated regulators is becoming more critical
