Title: Determination Of Calorific Values Of Natural Gas By Combustion Instruments
Author: Michael C. Mckinney

Abstract: Accurate determination of the BTU, or heating value of natural gas is of prime importance in the gas industry today. Most custody transfer contracts written today are based on energy measurement rather than volume measurement. The BTU, or British Thermal Unit, is defined in Websters Dictionary as the quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water one degree Fahrenheit at a specified temperature.
