Abstract: This paper describes a new internal pressure equalizing system (internal venting), which prevents the entrance of the hot gas from the space above the insulated ceihng into the inner space of the storage tank for liquefied hydrocarbons, during the pressure cycling. This reduces substantially the boil-off rate as compared to the conventional internal venting system in general use today.
