Abstract: Computation of gas volumes as measured by an orifice meter, requires a rather lengthy formula and the gathering of information. Using a lengthy formula in the field is Impractical however, when the formula is understood it points out the requirements and information needed to determine the volume, regardless of the method used. In this paper we will discuss the flow equation, determine-the information necessary to compute the volume using various methods, and determine the source of all information needed. All calculations are based on American Gas Association - Committee Report #3.
