Abstract: The natural gas industry requires the best flow measurement accuracy and operational performance from a primary flow measurement device that state of the art technology can provide. Due to the economic value and the safety considerations of the product, the high performance and dependability of the flow measurement primary is directly related to process flow control and efficiency. The following materials describe the design details and performance capabilities of a properly constructed multiport averaging pitot tube (head type) primary with comparisions to traditional head type primaries to emphasize the flow measurement Improvements available to the gas industry.
