Abstract: Automatic sampling systems should be tested and certified according to the American Petroleum Institute (AP) Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards (MPMS), Chapter 8, Section 2, and the sample container/mixing system according to API 8.3. The complete system should be tested once it is installed in the field, under field operating conditions. Once certified, the system performance should be continually monitored and recorded to ensure the system is producing representative samples.
