Abstract: Federal Regulations found in section 192.195 of 49CFR Subpart D of the US Department of Transportation Pipeline Safety Regulations states each pipeline that is connected to a gas source so that maximum allowable operating pressure could be exceeded as a result of pressure control failure or some other type of failure, must have pressure relieving or pressure limiting devices to protect the lower pressure system from accidental overpressure.
