Abstract: Gas pressure regulators are automatic proportional controllers, ordinarily used to reduce a gas pressure from a higher to a lower value and to maintain this value by controlling flow through an adjustable valve. Regulators may be classified as selfoperated or pilot (relay) operated: each type has advantages for certain applications. In this paper we shall consider several types of pilot-operated regulators.
