Abstract: The gas turbine meter was introduced in the United States about ten years ago after being developed in Europe in the late fifties. It is widely used now throughout the free world for a variety of measurement applications. In gas transmission the turbine meter is used at city gates and at purchase points from producers. In distribution measurement the turbine meter finds application in measuring gas to commercial and industrial loads. In very recent years the turbine meter has also been used in gas production measurement at the well head.
