Abstract: While modular instrumentation offers significant advantages in flexibility and adaptability, there will always be a gap in performance between an integrated instrument and a modular instrument. Narrowing this performance gap requires fanatical attention to process control and a sound statistical approach to proving and maintaining modularity. This paper describes a manufacturing process which narrows the performance gap significantly.
